Obituary of James Leonard Abel

James L Abel, 57, of Burleigh, NJ crossed the finish line and saw the checkered flag on the evening of 7/6/12, due to complications following a heart attack. Jim was predeceased by his parents Jim & Jane Abel, his beloved uncle Jay, his grandmother Edna Hertling, and his friend Skip. Jim is survived by his sister, the Rev. Janet Abel of New York, cousins Bob & Donna Jones and their family, Harriet Gray and her family, and many friends, including Jerry & Kathy Grant, Dave, and Penny Callaghan. Jim was a very gifted certified auto mechanic and had also received training in Tool and Die following graduation from Scotch Plains Fanwood High School in 1972. Jim did own his garage for several years in Erma, NJ. Jim was a builder and racer of Dragsters. He loved the Yankees and the NY Giants, animals, old movies, and good times with friend. The family invites all his friends to a Celebration of Life on 7/21/12 at the Bayshore Inn, 3832 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08203 from 4 to 6 PM.
