Marion Church, 92, of Erma passed away peacefully on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Victoria Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born and raised in Wildwood Crest. Marion was a 1937 graduate of Wildwood High School, after which she became a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone of Wildwood. Marion spent most of her working career at Tony's Marine Supply of Cape May; where she was an employee for 35 years. She was a member of the Cape May United Methodist Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (with the former Cape May Chapter #156), and was a member of Miracles Fitness in Rio Grande. Marion is survived by her daughter Joan Burkhardt of Erma, NJ; her grandchildren: Cyndie Burkhardt of NYC & David Burkhardt and his wife Donna of Cold Spring, NJ; and her two great grandchildren: Taylor & Morgan Burkhardt. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 6 sisters (one of whom was her identical twin - Thelma Franco). There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Baptist Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. The family suggests donations in Marion's memory to the Cape May County Animal Shelter, 110 Shelter Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
