Obituary of Francis Joseph Cullen

Francis J Cullen, 83, formerly of Erma passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at his daughter's home in Kitty Hawk, NC. Born in Moorestown, NJ and formerly of Erma, he was most recently residing with his daughter in NC. He was a 1947 graduate of Moorestown High School and a 1949 graduate of Bock Vocational School. Francis served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a brick layer with Local # 33 of Atlantic City, NJ and Local # 1 of Philadelphia, PA; earning a Gold Union Card for 50 years of distinguished service. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Francis is survived by his wife of 57 years Valda (nee Johnson); his daughter Valarie Netsch of Kitty Hawk, NC; his son Francis Joseph (Donna) Cullen Jr. of Swainton, NJ; and his son Robert (Diane) Cullen of Hammonton, NJ. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and one sister Marcy Herdzik of Poughkeepsie, NY. He was preceded in death by his brother Louis J Cullen of Cinnaminson, NJ. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, N Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. The family suggests donations in Francis' memory to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691, or the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
