Obituary of James Norman Purdy

Purdy, James N., 78 of Rio Grande passed away on March 10, 2012. Formerly a resident of Rockaway, NJ for many years and the Highland Club in Atlantic City for 10 years he relocated to Rio Grande in 2005. James graduated from Rockaway High School in 1951. James was employed by the Howmett Corp., Dover, NJ, retiring in 1993. James was a member of the American Legion Post # 344 in Rockaway, Lower Twp. Moose Lodge #1054 in Erma. He was also a founding Charter member of O'Brien's Club in Rockaway. James is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth (McKinlay) Purdy. James is survived by his wife, Gloria and his two children, Edward McCarthy of Randolph NJ and Lisa Ann Purdy Suarez of Villas NJ; Step- Children Robert Purdy, Evelyn Vandugteren, James Purdy, Kathleen Richards and Russell Purdy; 4Grandchildren, Hector, Michael, Christina and Justin. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at 11am from the Evoy Funeral Home, Inc., 3218 Bayshore Road North Cape May, NJ 08204.
