Obituary of Ruth M Hoffman

Hoffman, Ruth M. (nee McDevitt) 83, of Cape May County, passed away at Crest Haven Nursing Home on March 8, 2012. Born in Philadelphia, she was raised in the Kensington section of the city. Ruth was a devout Roman Catholic and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America. . A true "Peter Pan" spirit who enlivened imaginations and encouraged exploration through her wit and humor. Loving and devoted spouse for 55 years and eternal soul mate of Stephen M Hoffman, who preceded her into the arms of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on June 1, 2004, with whom she is now reunited. Beloved Mother of Mary R.(Hoffman) LaBar, , Gladys A.(Hoffman) McDonald, Stephen M. Hoffman, Jr. Paul J. Hoffman, James Hoffman and Jude Hoffman and their spouses and soul-mates. She will be sadly missed by her 28 loving and precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are her Brothers and Sisters; William McDevitt of Louisville, KY, John McDevitt and Catherine McDonald of Maple Shade, NJ, Joseph McDevitt of Sicklerville, NJ, and James McDevitt of Mt.Laurel, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 17 , 2012 at 11 am from St. John Neumann Parish at St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Road, N. Cape May, NJ where friends may call from 10 am until time of Mass. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cem. in Lower Township. In lieu of flowers and other acknowledgements, Ruths children request that donations be made in her name to the Life of Hope Orphanage, Port au Prince, Haiti via Praying Pelicans Mission, "Life is Hope", 4899 Miller Trunk Highway, Duluth, MN. 55811.
