Claire M Barkoff, 92, of North Cape May passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at her home. Born in Woodland, NJ and formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ; she has been a Cape May area resident since 1952. Claire was a secretary/office manager for several prominent real estate companies in Cherry Hill, NJ retiring after 30 years. She was a local author who (at age 87) published "Family Memories" and also wrote "Moments in Time" to be published later this year. Claire was a former member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church of Cherry Hill; a 1937 graduate of Camden Catholic High School; the Women of the Moose of North Wildwood; the Altar & Rosary Society at Queen of Heaven RC Church in Cherry Hill; and the Erlton Fire Company Women's Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband George G Barkoff in 2000 and her brother Albert Goodearly. Claire is survived by her son Ken (with whom she lived); her daughter Georgiana (John) Batrano of Poplar Bluff, MO; and her daughter Karen English of Mantua, NJ. Also surviving are her brother William (Terry) Cline of Haddon Twp, her grandchildren: Chris (Christal), Mike, Cynthia (Brendan), & Patricia (Mark); and her great grandchildren: Matthew, Raven, Claire M, Quinn, Mark, Krystal, Alex, & Nicholas. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, N Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ. The family suggests donations in Claire's memory to the ALS Association, 321 Norristown Rd, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
