Obituary of Walter R Janicki

JANICKI, WALTER R. 87 of Rio Grande and formerly of Midand, Pa. passed away on January 30, 2012 at Eastern Shore Nursing Home. Walter was a World War II Navy Veteran and served on the USS Intrepid. He also enjoyed traveling , theater , opera groups, beach., and celebrating holidays and birthdays with his family. He was also a volunteer at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital for many years. Walter was an ambulance driver for the Cannon Funeral Home in Midland Pa.. He was active with the Boy Scouts in the Beaver Valley Area and was also an Auxiliary Policemen in Midland Pa. Walter was the last of eight children of the parents of John and Genofefa Janicki. Walter is preceded in death by his wife Mary (1992). and daughter Maryanna Janicki (1972) . He is survived by his son Gregory W. and his wife Kathleen Janicki of Rio Grande and loving partner of 18 years, Joann Oxley. Loving grandfather of Gregory J.(Lisa), Scott(April) and Tim (Allison) . Great Grandfather of 6 and Uncle to many nieces and nephews.. Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on March 3, 2012 at the Parish of St. John Neumann/ St. .John of God Church , 680 Townbank Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204. Friends may call from 10 am to 11am at the Church. Interment will take place in a Mausoleum in Beaver, Pa. at a later date.
