Obituary of Robert A DiMedio

Robert A DiMedio, 71, of Villas passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2012 with his daughter Lorraine and the Moorestown Visiting Nurses & Hospice by his side. Although Robert was born in Philadelphia, he settled in Cape May County after graduating from Woodbury High School. He was still working at the Cape May Coast Guard Base as a civilian employee for the department of Homeland Security. His favorite part of the work day was lunch with his co-workers. Bob was previously employed at the Magnasite Plant in Cape May Point. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Dorothy DiMedio and his sister Susan Williamson. Bob is survived by his wife Barbara (nee Chew) DiMedio; his daughter Lorraine (Luis) Perez; his grandchildren: Luis Jr., Addrianna, and Aaron; and his great grandchildren: Luis III, Greg, & Gabriel. Also surviving are his step-children: George & Barry Warton; step-grandchildren: Barry & Shane; his sister Carol (Fred) Gregg; his brother Michael; and several nieces & nephews. Bob will be missed by his co-workers and special friends. Mr. DiMedio liked the Eagles, Phillies, Labrador Retrievers, wolves, and anything Italian. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery. The family suggests donations in Robert's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
