June C Curry, 79, of North Cape May passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2011 at her home. Born in Brooklyn, NY; she has been a Cape May area resident since 1952. June was an avid bowler winning many local, state, and national awards. She was a bus driver & supervisor for Coast Cities Bus Company for 27 years; and was the first woman on the Lower Twp Recreation Board - being instrumental in the building of the Recreation Center in Villas. June was very active in scouting; Little League Baseball, boys & girls baseball, softball, football, & basketball (becoming a state basketball referee). She was the first coach of the Lower Twp Raiders Cheerleader Squad and was the first president of the Lower Cape May Regional Band Parents. June is survived by her son Alfred E (Ann) Maree Jr. of Reading, PA; Lawrence C Maree of Absecon, NJ; three grandchildren: Ashley, Candace, & Michael; and great grandchildren: Jonathan & Jason. Also surviving are her sisters: Carol Mulchen, Vanita Baumgartner, & Susan Howell; her brother Fred Curry; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Erma Volunteer Fire Company, 415 Breakwater Rd, Erma, NJ 08204; followed by a buffet and a celebration of her life. Interment will be private. The family suggests donations in June's memory to the Carpe Diem USA Fund, c/o Berks County Community Foundation, 237 Court St, Reading, PA 19601.
