Darkes M Hauck (nee Gingrich), 96, of North Cape May, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2011. Born in New Brunswick, NJ; she lived in Verona, NJ and Pinellas Park, FL before moving to the Cape May area. Mrs. Hauck worked in the tax department of the Borough of Verona for many years prior to retiring to Pinellas Park, FL. She was a violinist with the Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra and was inducted into their Music Hall of Fame in 1991. Darkes was a founding member of the Tampa Bay Symphony Orchestra of Tampa, FL. She was predeceased by her husband Milton Hauck in 1978. Mrs. Hauck is survived by two daughters: Marilyn (Jack) Chronister of Mechanicsburg, PA and Nancy (Dennis) Reed of North Cape May, NJ. Also surviving are four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. There will be a graveside service to be announced at a later date, at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 & 1621 Stuyvesant Ave, Union, NJ. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Tampa Bay Symphony, PO Box 4653, Clearwater, FL 33758.
