Paul V McCarthy, 69, of Villas passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Philadelphia and formerly Overbrook Park, PA; he has been a Cape May area resident for 6 years. He was a graduate of Overbrook High School in Philadelphia and he attended St Joseph University in Philadelphia. Paul served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for ACME Markets of Upper Darby, PA; retiring after 39 years of service. Paul was a member of the Parish of St John Neumann. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Kathleen (nee Massa) McCarthy of Villas, NJ; his daughter Theresa (Gregory) Gardner of Sharon Hill, PA; and his son Stephen (Robin) McCarthy of Havertown, PA. Also surviving are two brothers: Thomas (Anna Marie) McCarthy of Phoenixville, PA & Michael McCarthy of Wildwood, NJ; and 4 grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St Raymond's RC Church, Ocean & Bayshore Rd, Villas, NJ; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
