Obituary of Ellen Mary MacLusky

Ellen M. MacLusky, 101, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her late husband John Howard MacLusky, and by her parents Patrick J. and Susan O'Neill Egan. Ellen, the eldest of six, had two sisters, the late Anne O'Connell of Red Bank, the late Margaret Conner of Bloomfield; and three brothers; the late Hubert Egan of Middletown, the late John Egan of Bloomfield, and the late Peter Egan of West Orange.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Darcy of Kingsley, PA, and Susan J. and husband John M. Monticone of Medford, MA; four grandchildren, Sarah Ellen Darcy, John Martin Darcy, II, Paul MacLusky Monticone, and Stephanie Sue Monticone; one great-grandson, Joseph Noviello, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews and their spouses and children, especially her godson Robert Conner and niece Cindy Naguib, and including many cousins in Roscommon, Ireland. She enjoyed the companionship of many friends and neighbors, and had special affection for Pat McGlinn, Helen Oeffler, Arnie Falck, and Tom Checket. She was supported in her quest to remain independent by Brian Burns, Don Embs and many caregivers and neighbors too numerous to mention, but to whom she was most grateful. Special thanks to Drs. Art and Julie Ann Childs for their outstanding medical care.
Ellen was employed early on by Public Service Electric and Gas, and Bell Telephone, completing her service at Bell Laboratories (Alcatel Lucent) in Murray Hill, NJ, retiring with her husband to North Cape May in 1972.

Calling hours will be 10 - 11 a.m., with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011; both at St. John Neumann Parish at St John of God Church, 680 Town Bank Road, No. Cape May, NJ. Internment at St. Mary's Cemetery will be immediately following the Mass.
