Shirley A. Velozo, age 64, of Rio Grande went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Victorian Manor Nursing Home in North Cape May. . She was a lifelong area resident and was a retired teachers aid for the Cape May Co. Vo Tech School in Cape May Court House where she worked for 22 years. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Piro and Norma Small. She is survived by her daughters Sherrie (Jim) Purdy, Tammy (Danny McNair) Flynn and Torri (Chris) Lamonica, Sondra Velozo; a son Robert Velozo Jr.; her mother, Shirley Cornwell; brother, John (Patricia)Cornwell,; sister, April Mooney; and dear friend and companion in her later years Robert Velozo Sr.; grandchildren, AJ Cummings, Brianna Purdy, Jaimie Flynn, Austyn Lamonica, Brynlee Lamonica and Critter Lamonica; and several nieces and nephews.. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 630 Lafayette St., Cape May where a viewing will be held from 9 to 11 am. Entombment will follow services at Cold Spring Cemetery. Condolences will be received at www.evoyfuneralhome.com.
