Obituary of Joan Patricia Listwan

Joan P. Listwan, age 81, of North Cape May passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Cape Regional Med. Center. Mrs. Listwan was born in Irvington, NJ; raised in Bloomfield, NJ; and graduated from Bloomfield High in 1950. Joan married Albert J Listwan, a career Marine, in 1954. When he retired from the Marine Corps in 1971, the family settled in North Cape May. Joan attended Rutgers University and ACC. She retired from Lower Cape May Regional School District after 25 years of service as a certified Food Service Director. Joan was a member of: the St John Neumann Parish, St John of God Altar & Rosary Society, the Rosary Makers, past Eucharistic Minister for nursing homes, the St John of God Wednesday Bingo (Money Room), the North Cape May Seniors, Historian for the N Cape May Red Hat Divas, a member for 30 years and Secretary for the Stella Maris KOC Ladies Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary for 15 years, volunteered at Blood Drives with the American Red Cross for 10 years, and worked at the polls in Lower Township. She was the wife of the late Al Listwan who died in 2001. She is survived by her son Bert Listwan of Cold Spring, NJ, her daughter Patty Listwan of Palm Beach, FL, her granddaughter Kylie (Tim) Bush, and great grandson Oliver Timothy Bush of Cape May, NJ. There will be a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 11, 2013 and from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, N Cape May, NJ 08204. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
