Carmel M Ruggiero, age 77, of Cape May passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Montclair, NJ & formerly of Cedar Grove, NJ; she spent the past 20 years in Port Charlotte, FL. She has been a Cape May area resident since 2010. Carmel was an avid player of Mahjong and Rummikub. She was a secretary in the medical field for many years. Carmel was preceded in death by her husband Sam Ruggiero. She is survived by her children: Debbie (Dale) Barth of Canadensis, PA and her son Steven (Robin) Ruggiero of Cape Coral, FL. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Jacki Blair, Kristin Bartle, & Ashley Ruggiero; and 2 great grandchildren: Kamryn Bartle & Brooklyn Bartle. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. The family suggests donations in Carmel's memory to St Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
