John Joseph Davis of Villas, born in Philadelphia to John & Catherine (nee Weider) Davis, passed away on June 22, 2011 after a courageous 20 year battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Annunziata ("Dolly"); his son John (Catherine); and his daughter Kathryn Lewis of Yorktown, VA. John will be greatly missed by his five grandchildren: Jodie (Jeff) Cox, Samantha (Jon) Haag, William (US Navy), Caitlin (US Army), and Brendan Lewis. Also surviving are three great grandchildren: John Travis & Madison Alexis Cox, & Owen Mathew Lewis; and one brother Robert Davis of Scottsdale, AZ. John moved to Villas after retiring from the City of Philadelphia as a stationary engineer. He also worked 11 years at Cape May Point State Park, and was a Korean War veteran. John was a great person and would help anyone that he thought needed help. He loved working in his yard and garden. There will be a funeral service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034; or to a charity of your choosing.
