Dolores C. Proud, age 84, of North Cape May passed away peacefully at the North Cape Center on Sunday, June 5, 2011. She was born and raised in Camden, NJ and was a resident of North Cape May since 1956. Dolores spent her time being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed bingo, going to the beach, and was an award winning Avon representative for the Cape May Co. area. Dolores especially loved her yearly trips to Disney World in Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry F. Proud and her son Richard F. Proud. Dolores was the last surviving sibling of nine. She was the beloved mother of Harry Proud of Trooper, PA; Edward Proud (Deborah) of N. Cape May; Catherine Proud of Villas; Dolores Majane (Frank) of Erma; and Debbie Kennedy (Dennis) of Conshocken, PA. She also leaves: 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren; and her beloved niece Peanut Carter. A memorial Service will be held 11 am Wednesday at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, N. Cape May; where friends will be received from 10 to 11 am. Burial will be private. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260 or Animal Outreach, PO Bbox 1225, Cape May, NJ 08204.
