Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Caruso

Mary E Caruso, age 92, of North Cape May passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Vitas Hospice in Stratford, NJ. Born in New Brunswick, NJ; she has been a Cape May area resident since 1990. She is a graduate of New Brunswick High School. Mary's first job was a telephone operator; and then a druggist assistant; and worked in Medical Records at St Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick for over 20 years. She was a member of St Mary's RC Church in New Brunswick and attended St John Neumann Parish here. Mary enjoyed reading & current events; was a history buff; and liked raising house plants & garden flowers. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, South America, Hawaii, and Hungary (where she visited with family). Mary is survived by her daughter Dolores Tursi of Wildwood Crest; her grandson Michael (Lee Ann) Tursi; and her granddaughter Christine (Anthony) Giordano. Also surviving are her four great grandchildren: Megan, Amanda, Mary, & Emma - who she loved very much and enjoyed attending their social events. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Nicolas Kovacs & James Kovacs; and her sister: Vilma Mercurio. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2011 the Parish of St John Neumann at St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ ; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at St Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ. The family suggests donations in Mary's memory to the Vitas Hospice, Kennedy Memorial Hospital, 18 East Laurel Rd, 3rd Floor, Stratford, NJ 08084.
