Obituary of William E Hawkins

William E Hawkins, age 83, of North Cape May passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at his home. Born in Cape May, he has been a lifelong area resident. William served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant serving for over 22 years. He was the owner-operator of Bill's Upholstery in Cape May, was a member and former quartermaster for the VFW in Cape May, was a member of the Moose Lodge in Erma, and enjoyed playing golf. William was preceded in death by his daughter Jimye Helen Strauss and his son William Hawkins, Jr. He is survived by his daughter Catherine (Joseph) Sullivan of North Cape May, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
