John V Lemanowicz, age 88, of North Cape May passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 at his home with his loved ones by his side. Born in Hoboken, NJ and formerly of Westfield, NJ; he has been a Cape May area resident for 18 years. John was a Warranty Specialist with Mack Trucks of Hillside, NJ; retiring after 20 years of service. He served his country as a sergeant in the US Army during World War II. John enjoyed woodworking, baking, was an avid fisherman, and a member of the VFW of Westfield-Mountainside, NJ. He is survived by his wife Pauline; nieces and nephews: Marianne, Joseph, Margaret, Peter, & Jeffrey, & David, Dianne, Brian, Carolyn, Linda, & Debby. Also surviving are one brother, Thomas Lemanowicz, and two sisters, Marie Yeutter, and Dorothy Eustis. John was preceded in death by his parents Fannie & John Lemanowicz and his sister Blanche Lewis. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Parish of St John Neumann at St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. The family suggests donations in John's memory to the Compassionate Care Hospice, 172 Route 50, Ocean View, NJ 08230; or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 528-B Fellowship Rd, Mt Laurel, NJ 08054.
