Susan Marie Kenney (nee Lepak), 57, of Rio Grande, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia and formerly of the Manayunk Section of Philadelphia and Villas, NJ; she has been a Cape May County resident since 1967. Susan was a supervisor for the Cape May County Board of Social Services for 25 years. She was formerly affiliated with the Lower Township Recreation Center and formerly worked the voting polls in Lower Township. Susan enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and ceramics. She was a former Vice President of the United Independent Union (UIU) and a former member of the Cape May County String Band. Susan is survived by her husband Robert; son Robert; daughter Florianne (Michael) Horton; sister Linda (Victor) Merrill; and sister Georgia (Edward) Berrish. Also surviving are granddaughters: Abigail Knox, Amylynn Kenney, & Summer Horton; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ.
