Obituary of William Edward Healy

William E ("Bill") Healy Sr., age 81, of Town Bank passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2011 at his home. Born in Philadelphia and formerly of that city, he has been a Cape May area resident since 1998. William was a Philadelphia Firefighter for 19 years and a driver for the Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital for 15 years. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. William was a member of the Parish of St John Neumann and a former usher; the Knights of Columbus; the Holy Name Society; and the Retired Philadelphia Firefighter's Assoc. He is survived by his wife Patricia E (nee McCullough) Healy of Town Bank; his 5 children: William E (Gail) Healy Jr. of Secane, PA; Catherine A Maugeri of Glenolden, PA; Eileen M (Diana) Arnold of Longview, WA; Joseph J (Valerie) Healy of Philadelphia, PA; and Thomas P (Helen) Healy of Dover, DE. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister Rose R Glavin; a brother Frank D (Marlene) Healy; and a sister Mary E (Kenneth) Ulsh. He was preceded in death by his sister Edna Coleman. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Parish of St John Neumann at St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. The family suggests donations in William's memory to the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260 or the Christ Child Society, PO Box 882, North Cape May, NJ 08204.
