Shirley M (Flick, Staab) Rockey, age 80, of Wildwood passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Ocean View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Bethlehem, PA and formerly of the Fishtown Section of Philadelphia; she has been a Cape May area since 1979. Shirley was retired from Wildwood Linen after 25 years of employment and was also retired from the Philadelphia Board of Education after 19 years of service. She was an avid reader of books and watcher of game shows. Shirley was also a Philadelphia Eagles fan. She is survived by her nine children: Sandi DeLone; Robert Rockey; Diane Hurd; Deborah Racela; Beverly Nixon; Bonnie Wood; Jeffery Flick; Ronald Flick; and David Flick. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. There will be a funeral service at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Interment will be private. The family suggests contributions in Shirley's memory to the Make A Wish Foundation, 1034 Salem Rd, Union, NJ 08034.
