Donald G Booth, age 79, of North Cape May passed away peacefully on Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Crest Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Philadelphia and formerly of Somers Point; he has been a Cape May area resident since 1993. Donald retired from the US Air Force after 24 years, and served his country during the Korean War. He also retired from the US Post Office working in the Atlantic City, Northfield, and Pomona Post Offices. Donald was very active in the Cape May Kiwanis Club where he served as a past president. He also was a member and past president of the Cape Atlantic Area American Postal Workers Union. He was the secretary/treasurer of the NJ State APWU. Surviving are: his wife of 22 years Karen; sons: Robert G Booth of Green Bay, WI; William J Booth of Egg Harbor Twp, NJ; Gary Bolon of Cape May; daughters: Vicki (Robert) Thigpen of Pearl, MS; and Raquelle (William) Narran of Egg Harbor Twp, NJ. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a brother Robert (Barbara) E Booth; a sister Patricia (Howard) Guntz; and friends Larry & Mary Notch. There will be a memorial service at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Interment will be private. The family suggests donations in Donald's memory to the Cape May Kiwanis Club, 1041 Beach Ave, Cape May, NJ 08204.
