Trombetta, Joseph N. 85 of Green Creek went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 12th. He was the son of Giacomo and Antoinette Trombetta. He was the proud father of the large Trombetta family, which included 7 children, 20 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1943. From 1944 to 1946, he honorably served in the Pacific during World War II by participating in action against the enemy at Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands, and in the occupation of Japan. He was a carpenter by trade and well known for his welcoming demeanor, his gentle ways, and humorous ability to add brevity to any situation. He was a member of the Covenant Bible Church. He is survived by his brother Benjamin Trombetta; seven children son Jack Trombetta and wife Lynne of Green Creek, daughter Denise Barrett and husband John of Bayside Village, daughter Andrea Maher and husband John of Green Creek, son Joseph Trombetta and wife Ellen of Haddonfield, daughter Vera Kalish and husband Al of Green Creek, Daughter Rosemarie Daly and husband Tom of Lancaster, son Anthony and wife Renata of Chicago. He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family. He is predeceased by his grandson John Maher Jr. and two sisters Rosemary DiCicco and Mary Bellezza. A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Tuesday, March 15th at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in North Cape May at 123 Fishing Creek Road. Visitation is from 2 to 3 p.m. Service begins at 3. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Covenant Bible Church. Condolences will be received at evoyfuneralhome.com
