Beverly A Penfold (nee Van Den Acre), age 77, of Erma passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Cape Regional Medical Center with her daughter and sister Kathleen by her side. Born in Philadelphia, she has been a Cape May area resident for 50 years. Beverly was a CPA and worked for Lower Township for over 25 years as a supervising computer operator and assistant treasurer. She was an active member of the former Town Bank VFW. Beverly, lovingly known as "Annie" by her family, was the major member of a large Irish clan; and was the organizer of the Lengel family reunion. She is survived by her daughter Peggy (Richard) McCann of Cape May; her grandchildren: Lucas (Deborah) McCann, Victoria Lu-Ann, & Christina Marie-Sun all of Cape May, Joseph (Jennifer) McCann, & Daniel (Jessica) McCann both of Hickory, NC; and her great granddaughter Natalie Anna McCann. Also surviving are her siblings: Mary Lee of Villas; William (Florence) Van Den Acre of N Cape May; Joseph (Patt) Van Den Acre of Chandler, AZ; Kathleen (James) Bennett of Mesa, AZ; Thomas Wayne Van Den Acre of Mankato, MN; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Penfold, a brother Randolph, and sisters Jayne, Elizabeth, and Barbara. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
