Maurice H "Moe" Boyer, age 99, of North Cape May passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Vineland Veteran's Memorial Home. Born in Philadelphia and formerly of the Port Richmond Section of that city; he has been a Cape May area resident since 1962. Moe served his country during World War II in the US Army Air Corps Fire Fighting Platoon. He participated in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland; receiving several service medals with 6 Bronze Stars. He was a Firefighter for the Philadelphia Fire Department from 1943 - 1962; worked at Burdette Tomlin Hospital; Christmann Auto Parts of Wildwood; and Burke Motors. Moe was a member of: the Parish of St John Neumann; the Stella Marus Knights of Columbus 3545 of Erma 3rd Degree; the Good Samaritans of St Raymond's RC Church; was Quartermaster at the VFW 3725 of Town Bank; and a member of AARP. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna (nee Thomas) in 1986, and his stepson Frederick Craig. Moe is survived by: 4 nephew and 2 nieces, 6 step grandchildren; 12 great step grandchildren; and 3 great-great step grandchildren. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Parish of St John Neumann at St Raymond's RC Church, Bayshore & Ocean Ave, Villas, NJ 08251; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be at 2:30 PM at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, 1600 South Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064.
