Dorothy T. Abele age74 of Townbank passed away on Friday February 25, 2011 at her home. She was born in Philadelphia, formerly of Deptford, NJ and had resided in the Cape May area since the late 1980's. She had worked as a deli clerk at the Acme Market in North Cape May. She was a member of the Home Owners Association in Townbank and of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church in Cape May. She enjoyed Philadelphia baseball. She is survived by her husband of 14 years James C. Abele; a son Daniel Gatti of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a daughter, Dorothy Gatti-Merlino of Dennis Twp.; she also leaves a granddaughter, Jamie Merlino and several step-children , step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; three sisters, Rosemarie Toscani of S. Philadelphia, Anna Kane of Pennsauken and Diane Armstrong of Runnemede, NJ. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband of 39 years, Daniel Gatti ; brother Joseph Ancello and sisters Rita Lejarza and Alfreda Delpercio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:30pm Monday February 28, 2011 at Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Washington St. Mall and Ocean St, Cape May. Friends may call at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Interment will be private. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9, Swainton, NJ 08210 or the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
