When I first read the phrase "Light a candle by adding your thoughts and memories", I quickly moved along, clicked in the empty text box and wondered how I could express thoughts of condolence through text. The simple English language lacks a multitude of words to describe the plethora of emotions and thoughts humans are capable of having. I read the phrase again. "Light a candle by adding your thoughts and memories." One word that does have a proper definition and universal understanding is 'light'.
Light. An illumination. A radiant energy providing warmth and life. Everyone knows what it feels like to stand outside on a beautiful day with our skin absorbing warm, colorful rays. Light. In the gleam of a child's eye, or a blushing sunrise.
My question now is "For what reason do we need to light a candle?" The candles have always been lit. There has always been light because of her; she gave light to us and it will forever glow in our hearts and minds, and dance in the caress of the sun's warmth on our faces.
