Obituary of Carl M. Delinski
Please share a memory of Carl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carl Delinski, age 65, a longtime resident of North Wildwood; passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 at home. His family, and wife of 35 years, Sue, will sadly and sorely miss him. A beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather; Carl will be remembered for his love of cooking and dedication to fishing. He especially enjoyed preparing unique dishes for friends and family at home. Carl was an expert carpet and tile installer who always had time to help or offer advice to friends making repairs. When the striped bass were running, Carl could always be found at the "half bridge" in North Wildwood, rod in hand. Now that he has passed, the secret to his success as a fisherman can be revealed. Carl would leave his bait marinating overnight in a bucket in the cargo area of his station wagon - affectionately called the "Clam Boat". Proud of his Polish heritage, and best known for his unique sense of humor; Carl was never afraid to express his opinion on any number of subjects. He was always emphatic, witty, and colorful when making his point. Holding court seated in his favorite recliner with his legs crossed, head crowned with his trademark paisley bandana, ashtray overflowing with Camels and fueled by a constant intake of his favorite beverage - Milwaukee's Best; Carl made every effort to persuade you that his way was not just the right way, but the only way. Carl was argumentative, but he did have a heart of gold. He was truly a presence, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Carl will not soon forget him. Funeral services and interment will be private. The family suggests donations in Carl's memory to the Children's Fresh Air Home, PO Box 413, Haddonfield, NJ 08033 ( www.freshairhome.org).
