Anthony Genovese of Erma found peace on Friday, January 28, 2011. He was born June 13, 1933 in Gloucester, MA to Marco & Grace Genovese and was one of 13 children. Anthony lived in Gloucester until 1963 when he came to Cape May to join the White Dove fishing vessel with his brothers. He loved the commercial fishing industry, old movies, his Boston sports teams, and was one of the hardest working men you would ever meet. Anthony proudly served his country in the US Army for a 2 year tour of duty. He was a member of the St Peter's Club in Gloucester, MA and the Elks Club. Anthony was preceded in death by: his daughter Grace Quigley; his brothers: Ralph, Augustus, Albert, & Paul (Logie); and his sisters: Ursula Bono & Vita (Cookie) Lane. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosalie, and his children: son Mark (Dawna), son Joseph (Mary), daughter Angela (Dennis) Crippen, son Anthony (Kim), and son-in-law Frank Quigley. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren: Frankie, Matthew, Andrea, David, Nicole, Jessica, Melissa, Joey, Nicholas, Gabrielle, AJ, Alison, Kelsea, James, & Katie. Anthony is also survived by his brother Marco Genovese, sisters: Josie Piraino, Cathy Baptista, Nancy Clooney, Mary Axelsson, Antoinette Harrison; and many nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered for his love of family; his love of fishing; and his amazing bread & pizza making. Anthony is now peacefully fishing in fair winds and calm seas. There will be a funeral service at 11:30 AM on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. Interment will follow the service at St Mary's Cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ. The family suggests donations in Anthony's memory to the Fisherman's Memorial Fund, 997 Ocean Dr, Cape May, NJ 08204 or a charity of your choice.
