Obituary of America Marie Sambenedetto

America Marie Sambenedetto (nee Montanucci), age 93, of Villas passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. Born in the Tacony Section of Philadelphia and formerly of Pinehill section of that city, she has been a Cape May area resident since 2006. America was an assembly worker for Philco Corp in Philadelphia working on the first transistor radios built in the US. She also worked as a hairdresser in Huntington Valley, PA. America was a member of the Sons of Italy Judge Frank J Montemuro Jr Lodge # 2493 of Philadelphia; was active at the Lower Cape Senior Center in Villas (where she was very well liked by all); and enjoyed baking. She was preceded in death by her husband Florie. America is survived by: her son Richard (Florence) Sambenedetto Sr.; her grand children: Dawn (Joseph) Casey, Richard (fiance Sarah Carter) Sambenedetto Jr., & Nicholas (fiance Laurie Mozley) Sambenedetto; great grandchildren: Courtney, Carly, & Matthew Casey; and Richard III, Victoria, & Giovanni Sambenedetto. Also surviving are many nieces & nephews; along with her caretakers Becky Sanders & Nancy Stackhouse. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for the great care they provided. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the Parish of St John Neumann at St Raymond's RC Church, Bayshore & Ocean Dr, Villas, NJ; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, PA.
