Obituary of Mary Ann Schrobsdorff
Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary Ann Schrobsdorff, age 73, of Cape May, cherished wife of Joachim Schrobsdorff and loving mother of Susanna, Ingalisa, Christian, and Rosemary; died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 with her family by her side. Adored by her grandchildren: Pia, Annika, & Sahar; her brother Richard Lynd; and her dear friend Mary Ellen Snow. She was a woman of great wit and immense kindness, never without a good book or a wry observation. Mary Ann will be missed terribly by her many friends at the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts in Cape May where she worked as an interpreter for more than 10 years. Passionate about literature, history, and the beach; she found like-minded souls among the Questers, the Cape May Book Club, and her circle of fellow writers. A 1959 graduate of the Boston College School of Nursing, Mary Ann spent 25 years caring for others as a registered nurse in Massachusetts before moving to Cape May and beginning her second career guiding visitors around the city that she loved. Born in Palo Alto, CA she was the daughter of Albert & Lorraine Lynd. She met her husband, Joe, in 1960 aboard an ocean liner bound for Portugal and they remained devoted to each other for 50 years. Friends may call at noon on Sunday, January 2nd at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ (services will begin at 1 PM). Donations may be made in Mary Ann's name to the Questers through the treasurer Marie Perrelli at 609-898-0889.
