Obituary of Elizabeth Discepola
Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved mom, Betty Discepola (nee Strouse), age 87, of Villas returned home to the Lord on Saturday, December 11, 2010. Born in Germantown, Betty was a 1941graduate of Little Flower High School. Betty has been a Cape May area resident since 1969. A member of the Parish of St John Neumann; Betty became active in the Altar & Rosary Society, lecturing, parish council, and working & later playing Bingo. Painting ceramics, watching game shows, doing cross words and jigsaw puzzles were a few of the things enjoyed by Mom. Her favorite pastime was being with her family and we will miss her every day. Our mother prided herself in raising her "eight angels": Joseph (Marion); Anne (Jerry) Mueller; Anthony; Kate; Michael (Nancy); Agnes (George) Bross; Stephen (Lisa); and Ralph Jr. (now deceased). A grandmother to 26, a great grandmother to 10; and a birthday was never forgotten. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands Ralph Sr. in 1959; Carmen in 2006; a brother Rev Stephen Strouse; and a sister Anne DiGaudio. Her legacy to us is her recipe for chocolate chip cookies and her gift of faith. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Parish of St John Neumann at St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204. Friends may call at the Evoy Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, December 14, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA. The family suggests donations in Betty's memory to The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, 475 East Chelten Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19144.
