Obituary of Agnes Frances Monticelli

Agnes F. Monticelli, age 81, of North Cape May passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, she summered here since 1982 and has been a Cape May area resident since1990. Agnes graduated from Mastbaum Vocational High School in Philadelphia and was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone of Philadelphia. She volunteered at Burdette Tomlin Hospital Thrift Shop; the Mid-Atlantic Arts Council in Cape May; and was employed as a guide at the Cape May Point Lighthouse. Agnes was active in the Lower Township Republican Party. She enjoyed painting (especially oil painting) and reading. She attended the St John Neumann Parish. Agnes is survived by her husband of 62 years Nazareno Monticelli; daughter Nina & husband George Boyd of Dover, PA; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers: Jim Mullen of Vero Beach, FL and Jack Mullen of Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathleen Monticelli, her son Armand Monticelli, and one great grandchild Robbie Monticelli. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St Peter & Paul Cemetery, 1600 S Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA; at 2:30 pm. The family suggests donations in Agnes' memory to the American Cancer Society, 626 N Shore Rd, Absecon, NJ 08201.
