Obituary of Jeron Glenn Holman

Jeron Glenn Holman, age 81, of Villas passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Courthouse Convalescent Center. Born in Nixon, Texas; he has been a Cape May area resident since 1948 when he was stationed here with the U. S. Coast Guard. He was a cook with the Coast Guard from 1948 to 1955. Glenn was a Lower Township Committeeman for many years and then became Mayor of Lower Township in 1973. He was owner/operator of Holman Heating Company and Holman Water Wells. Glen was the principle stockholder of two corporations: G Beech Box Inc & South Jersey Drilling Co. He was a Prudential Insurance agent in Villas for many Years (retiring in 1998) and an active member of the Cape Island Masonic Lodge. Glenn was very active in the establishment of the Lower Township Recreation Center and the refurbishing of the North Cape May swimming pool. In his younger years he was a Golden Glove Boxer. Glenn enjoyed oil painting and was known to be very generous to people in need. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Beatrice; sons Ronald (Sharon Falkowski) of Cape May; David Sr. (Charlotte) of North Cape May; and daughter Jannette (Ronald) Robson of CMCH. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: David Jr. (Yahaira); Wayne; Rachel (Brian); Andrea; Christopher (Christina); and Shane; along with 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Vassar & Linwood; and parents: Amy (Self) & Vassar Holman Sr. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May; where friends may call from 11:30 to 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ. The family suggests contributions in Glenn's memory to the Salvation Army, 22 S Texas Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401or the Animal Outreach, PO Box 1225, Cape May, NJ 08204.
