Dear Marie, Lorri, Joe, Heather and Jodie
Joe was always ready to give encouraging words whenever you spoke to him. It was great spending his birthday this summer with him. The smile on his face when each new group of people showed up made it so enjoyable. It will be something to always remember. We love all of you and Joe will be missed.

"Zoot Horn Rollo. You'll never forget it."
Here I am, many, many years later, and I I still haven't forgotten it. That's what happens when a man of few words speaks. You pay attention.
It was hard not to pay attention to Joe Kaulinis. You sat in the room on the edge of your seat, listening to other people chattering away, waiting for his next words, because you knew they were going to be full of wit and a certain zen-like clarity. Never unkind, never elevated in emotion. Just a plain, true observation of the world that made you laugh for several weeks.
I will continue to remember Joe fondly, and I'll continue to be grateful that I got to spend just a little time in his presence, though he has left this world far too soon.
I hope young Joe and the rest of the family can take comfort in the fact that he brought so much positive energy to so many people while he was here, and that his spirit carries on in our memories of him.

Wow. This man taught me how to draw a circle. What a great guy. A man of few words, but when he spoke, you remembered every word. I know his subtle smile will remain in the hearts of everyone he touched, whether it be with his family, or just the guy he held the door open for at the hardware store. I will never sit at a table in a restaurant without thinking of you and your need to make everything as good as it could be. Especially as most tables are indeed too high it seems. Never really noticed that before. I'm sad to see you go, but take comfort in the legacy you left behind. Your unmatched sense of humor lives on in your son and will for future generations to come. I will pause to celebrate your life often.

I am very happy that I was able to meet Dad before he left.He was not just a father but, a loving Husband and a friend. I thank him and Mom for welcoming me to their family. I felt his hug & kiss with the love of my own father. Meeting him once I can tell that he was a GREAT man. He is my Dad. I remembered everything he said to me...With so much joy and peace on his face. He said...
that I have family here... that Im supposed to be here...
And that I was the one for his son.
Thanks for everything Dad.
Even though you cannot be at our wedding in person, I know you will surely attend it in spirit. I also know that you will be present for all our beautiful moments in our future.
I love you.
Love,
Ghee

I could have not asked for a better dad. To put how I feel in words is just too much to ask and would take a lifetime to express. He made me who I am today. Simply said...He was the greatest man I have ever know and I was fortunate enough that he was also my father. I love you Dad and I will continue to always ask for your advice, support, wisdom and strength. You are always in my heart and that will never end even if your life here has...
Love,
your son
