Mary E O'Brien, 89, of Del Haven passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2010 at her granddaughter's home. Born in Philadelphia, she has been a Cape May area resident for 36 years. Mary worked as a chamber maid, a factory worker in the Silk Mill, and the Sugar Mill in Philadelphia. She was a member of St Raymond's RC Church; the Senior Center of Lower Township; and a life member of the Villas Fishing Club. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Francis P O'Brien in 2002. Surviving are: her son Charles "Buddy" Omrod Sr. of Philadelphia; 3 grandchildren: Pauline, Charles Jr, & Dawn; 10 great-grandchildren; and 8 great great-grandchildren. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Parish of St John Neumann at St Raymond's RC Church, Ocean & Bayshore Rd, Villas, NJ; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. The family suggests donations in Mary's memory to St Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
