Franklin E Johnson Sr., 78, of Erma passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the North Cape Center. He was a lifelong resident of the Cape May area; was a pipefitter by trade; and served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Franklin enjoyed combing the beach with his metal detector; fishing; making jewelry; working on lawn mowers; and was an avid Nascar fan. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Emma L Johnson in May of 2010. Franklin is survived by his: daughter Deborah DeMusz of Erma; son Franklin Johnson Jr. of Erma; and stepson Richard Curry of Erma. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Jacob, Sonya, Wade, Amanda, & Jeremy; and 2 great grandchildren: Zack & Lauren. There will be a funeral service at 4:00 Pm on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Rio Grande Bible Baptist Church, 1107 Route 47, Rio Grande, NJ 08242. The family suggests donations in Franklin's memory to the Rio Grande Bible Baptist Church or the church's school.
