Hugh J O'Neill Obituary

Hugh J O'Neill Jr, age 94, of North Cape May passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, he has been a Cape May area resident for over 60 years. Hugh was a bartender for many years at the former Anchor Inn of Wildwood. He served his country in the US Army during World War II in Normandy, the Rhineland, and the European Theatre. Hugh is survived by: son Joseph of Alpine, CA; son James (Patricia) of Somers Point, NJ; daughter Betsy Zuzulock of Woodbine, NJ; daughter Barbara Fitzpatrick of Villas, NJ; daughter Patricia O'Neill of N Cape May, NJ; and sister Florence Wenke of Philadelphia, PA. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his: wife Elizabeth M Hofstaedter O'Neill in 1995; sister Jane Danksha; sister Anne O'Malley; brother William O'Neill; and grandson Christopher O'Neill. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ. The family suggests donations in Hugh's memory to the Animal Humane Society of your choice.
