Margaret J. Palumbo of North Cape May, NJ, died Friday, March 12, 2010 in the North Cape Center, North Cape May, NJ.


Born in Philadelphia she was formerly of Pennsauken and resided in North Cape May the past 20 years. She was a retired tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service in Camden and Philadelphia. Margaret was a member of the "Dancing Grannies" and the Red Hat Ladies of Wildwood Crest. She was also an associate member of the Villas Fishing Club and a member of the North Cape May Seniors and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.


She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years Vito Palumbo and a daughter Jean Fleming of Cold Spring; two brothers, Jack (Ida) Smith of Barefoot Bay, FL and Harry Smith Sr. of Erma; two grandchildren, Susan Fleming of Medford and Mark Fleming of Lower Twp. and; two great-grandchildren, Marisa and Sophia Cirino. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Thursday, March 18, 2010 at St. John Of God Church, 680 Townbank Road, N. Cape May. Friends may call Thursday from 9-10:30 am at Evoy Funeral Homes, Inc., 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cold Spring.
