Lawrence E Kephart, age 74, of Villas passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Crest Haven Nursing Home. Born in Philadelphia, and formerly of Collingdale, PA; he spent summers here since 1986 and moved to the Cape May area in 1998. Lawrence served his country in the US Navy. He was a carpet installer for the carpenter's union in Philadelphia and worked in security for 15 years at St Francis Country Home in Darby, PA; retiring in 1998. He was a member of St Raymond's RC Church, VFW Charles Buddy Lewis Post 5343 of Villas, and a former member of the Villas Fishing Club. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marion (nee Severs) of Villas. Also surviving are: his son Timothy Flood of Philadelphia; his son Patrick Flood of Delaware County, PA; three grandsons: Sean, Robby, & Matt; one granddaughter Christina; one great granddaughter Rhiannon; and his sister Velma Reilly of Havertown, PA. He was preceded in death by his two brothers: George and Arnold. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on January 22, 2010 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ; where friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in Lawrence's memory to the Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9, Swainton, NJ 08210.
