Catherine Karmels, age 76, of Villas passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Chester, Pa and formerly of Brookhaven, PA; she has been a Cape May area resident since 1989. Catherine was the beloved wife of 54 years to James J Karmels who survives. She was also the mother of James, John, Jeffrey, & Rebecca Karmels, and Connie Markley. Catherine was the sister of Paul Johnson, Betty Pennicuff, and April Carrara. She also leaves six grandchildren. Catherine was preceded in death by her daughter Cathy. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May; where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Burial of the cremains will follow the service at Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
