Walter E Maier, 69, of Villas passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, he has been a Cape May area resident for 28 years. Walter was one of the owners of the Firehouse Tavern in Wildwood and was formerly employed by Wicks Tavern in Philadelphia. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. Walter was preceded in death by his son Walter E Maier Jr. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Linda J Maier of Villas. Also surviving are his daughters: Linda (Bob) Bricker; Denise (Tom) Ciccarone; Joanne (Sam) Negron; brothers: Fred (Ann) Maier & Frank (Marion) Maier; sisters: Carol (Steve) Elzey & Emily (Andy) Bisceglie; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
