Helena Lee Kielmeier died peacefully on August 2, 2024, at the age of 90. She is survived by her loving husband of many years, David Kielmeier, and her two daughters, Lee Ann Root and Rebecca Root.

Lee was a proud and active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was sober for over 40 years. She was born in Norristown, PA and lived in Philadelphia, New York city (where she worked in public relations for the city with Bess Myerson), coastal North Carolina, and Southern New Jersey.

She was married to Billy Root, a well-known jazz musician, throughout the 50s. Lee, a true beauty, was an aspiring singer and model in her earlier years. Everyone loved Lee. She lit up every room she entered and loved to make people laugh. Lee touched many lives and will be very missed by all.
