Kenneth E. Starnes Sr., age 71, of North Cape May passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at his home. Kenneth was born in Bell County, KY, but has been a Cape May area resident most of his life. He was employed by the Lower Township Public Works Department; formerly worked as a waiter at the Lobster House, and was a self employed landscaper. Kenneth was a volunteer fireman with the Townbank Fire Company since 1980, where he was a "Life Member". He was also a member of the Villas Fishing Club, the DAV in Del Haven, the VFW and the Moose Lodge (in Indiana). Kenneth was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cape May. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his 7 children: Kenneth E Starnes, Jr. of Lower Twp; Lisa Bratsburg (Greg) of Lower Twp; Barbara Lewis (Robert) of Honeybrook, PA; Tammy Bender (Brian) of Wildwood Crest, NJ; Thomas Miller (Jennifer) of Elloree, SC; Jennifer Shober of Lower Twp; & Edward Miller (Erin) of Pittsburgh, PA. Also surviving are his brother Danny Gerber of Martinsville, IN; his sister Kimberly Mayo of Mooresville, IN; 17 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the First Assembly of God Church, 1068 Seashore Rd, Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
