Robert P Kopsitz, age 84, of North Cape May passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at North Cape Center. Robert was born in Philadelphia, but has been a Cape May area resident for over 30 years. He served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Robert was a Philadelphia Police Officer for many years, retiring in 1980. He was also an Investigator for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Disciplinary Board retiring in 2000. Robert was a member of the Villas VFW and the DAV of Del Haven. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Ella (nee Neville) Kopsitz 11/23/2014. Robert is survived by two sons: Robert (Edith) P Kopsitz, Jr. & Michael (Sandra) Kopsitz; and one daughter Patricia McHenry of North Cape May, NJ. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Kimberly Kopsitz, Joseph Kopsitz, Kathleen (Matthew) DeMarco, Lea Anne Kopsitz, Robert F McHenry, & Bryan P McHenry; and two great-grandchildren: Lilianna & Elena. There will be a private graveside service at 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
