James P "Jim" Ludlam, age 64, of Lower Township, NJ and Fort Myers, FL passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at his home. James was born in Cape May Court House and has been a life-long area resident. He was a 1968 graduate of Middle Township High School and a veteran serving in the US Coast Guard from 1969 to 1973. Jim started working for the various cable companies in Wildwood, NJ in 1973. While working he attended the University of Wisconsin, Atlantic Community College, and West Point Command Leadership Program in West Point, NY. He left the cable industry in 1986 as Plant Manager of Group W Cable. Then Jim, along with his wife Judith, purchased Century 21 Cape Shore Realty. After 30 years in the Real Estate business, he was forced to retire in 2006 due to illness. Jim was past president of the Lower Township Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow. He had a huge passion for life. His favorite times were spent traveling with his wife, spending time at their Fort Myers home, going to the movies with his grandchildren, and taking rides with his best buddy Stella. Jim was not only the life of the party; but when throwing the parties, made sure everyone was having the time of their lives. He was the first to help anyone in need. Jim was truly a genuine man with a heart of gold. He was preceded in death by his mother Geraldine Ludlam and his mother-in-law Teresa Hamann. Jim is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years Judi; his daughter Buffi Hinker- Miller and her husband Bruce; and his daughter Candi Robson and her husband Kevin. Also surviving are his 7 grandchildren: Derik, Joseph, Kevin Jr, Christopher, Sarah, Zachary, and Mary; his father and step mother Roy & Greta Ludlam; his father-in-law Leroy Hamann; his sister Carol Hoffman; several nieces; and nephews. There will be a Memorial Service at 12 noon Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Cape May Lutheran Church, 509 Pittsburgh Ave, Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
