Obituary of Dolores J. Gavin

Dolores “Bubbles” Gavin passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Philadelphia to Charles and Victoria Offidani on September 2, 1939. She grew up in Drexel Hill, PA and graduated from Upper Darby High School. In 1962 she married Francis (Frank) Gavin and together they raised 5 children. She worked at Bell Telephone as a Key Punch Operator and enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She had a great belief in God and her faith guided her every day of her life. She lived and professed kindness, love and generosity. To know her was to love her and she will be missed by many. She will forever live in the hearts of her surviving children, Lisa Gavin, Frank Gavin (Angie), Ann Marie Tirri (Will), Bill Gavin (Candy), Terry Kennedy (Tom). She leaves behind the greatest joy of her life, her grandchildren, Bill, Toby, Rain, Jordan, Hanna, Ciara, Emily and Frankie. She is survived by sister in laws, whom she said were truly sisters, Marguerite Offidani and Margaret Campbell, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Frank and brothers John (Doc) and Charles (Chick). Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at St Gabriel Roman Catholic Church 233 Mohawk Ave, Norwood, PA 19074 Thursday April 25th from 9 am-11am with a funeral mass at 11 am. Followed by a procession to SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, all are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Transplant and Dialysis Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
