Obituary of David A, Dunbar

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
David A. Dunbar, affectionately known as "Big Dave", "Slappy Bone", "Dad" and "Poppy", passed away suddenly on January 10th, 2024 just shy of his 65th birthday. Dave was born on March 25th ,1959 to Richard and Flora Dunbar in Philadelphia. While he was born and raised in Philadelphia, he has been a long-term resident of Cape May County. Dave has spent the last 25 years working with both Mike and Mikey Mohr and their Masonry crews. He was also a member of the Moose where he enjoyed shooting darts and playing horse shoes. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Dave knows that he was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He especially loved his Eagles (GO BIRDS!!). Dave also loved his crossword puzzles and did them daily. Above all else he was a family man who loved his family (both blood and chosen) wholeheartedly. Dave is survived by his wife Karen (nee Cassidy); his four children: Mandy, Dave Jr. (Sue), Catherine (Yamire "Mike"), and Zach (Jess); and his 7 grandchildren: Cassidy, Mahogany, Maeva, Zachary, Vivianne, Kam and Rhys. Also, George Murray (thank you for everything!), and the numerous friends who are really just chosen family (all of you!!). A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 20th, 2024 at 3pm at Evoy's Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May NJ 08204. Family and friends are invited to come pay their respects from 1pm to 3pm and remember Dave. A luncheon will follow at the Moose 569 Seashore Road, Cape May NJ 08204. The family requests that you come in comfortable clothing, preferably showing your Philadelphia sports team pride. Just like Dave would have wanted.?
